NORTH COUNTRY CABLE NETWORK PLATTSBURGH, NY 12901 FOXY GAGNON, PRESIDENT North Country Cable Network is a privately-owned videotape services and public-access channel company. Community and sports events are videotaped and televised on a tape-delay basis on the Charter Communications public-access channel (Channel 15). An updated weekly schedule can be found below. Among the many NCCN programs are: "Fox on the Run," an interview program featuring interesting people in the North Country, Lake City Stars semi-professional football, high school football and basketball games, Plattsburgh Little League Baseball, Plattsburgh PAL Football, and various school events.
In 2000 NCCN was recognized by the New York State Physical Education Administrators Council for "contributions to youth sports."
NORTH COUNTRY CABLE NETWORK PERSONNEL
Foxy Gagnon - owner and president of NCCN, sports play-by-play announcer. Foxy, an English teacher at Plattsburgh's Stafford Middle School, began using videography as part of his English classes in the 1970s.
Goose Gagnon - football analyst, videographer, color commentator. Goose is a customer service representative at Charter Communications in Plattsburgh. His love of football began in his own backyard with pick-up football games against his older brother. His career continued on the high school level, first at Our Lady of Victory Academy and then at St. John's Academy, where Goose graduated in 1969. In his senior year Goose was one of the Champlain Valley League's top running backs, and he achieved All-Star recognition. He still remains the only high school player in the North Country's football annals to have his own night celebrated at historic Bailey Avenue ballpark. In the fall of 1968 Pi Alpha Nu fraternity from SUNY-Plattsburgh sponsored "Goose Gagnon Night" during a St. John's Academy football game. On that night the Irish running back scored two touchdowns to lead his team to victory.
Laura Gagnon - videographer. A travel agent for AAA Northway, the Fox's "Darlin' Companion" is a highly-regarded videographer for sports events.
Erik Gagnon - "Stat Man," videographer. An honors graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in English - Writing from SUNY-Plattsburgh , Erik is an aspiring playwright. His statistics during Empire Football League games provide the commentators with valuable information during the game. As well, Erik often directs and videotapes the "Fox on the Run" interview program.
