The book's story begins somewhere in Warsaw, Poland where a very yound child suffers acute trauma over the drunken acts of his father. The child grown into a fine young Polish lad and eventually meets and befriends a formerly abandoned, Irish immigrant lassie. They grew into young adulthood friendly to each other.

     Time elapsed. They became engaged and soon afterward, they married. Instilled with an intense fever for freedom which they both possessed, alike their very few friends, their obsession made them more determined to leave Poland and immigrate to America, as many Poles have done before them. Eventually, planing for the right occasion, they rapidly departed Poland.

     The second chapter details a most eventful ocean journey to America. They desembarked from their ship in Boston, Massachusetts. The memories from this journey will forever linger in their minds.

     From this time forward, after a brief stay over in the Boston area, the youthful immigrants pursued on with their dream for complete freedom and its eventual completion. The pursuit sent them northwest to a country setting in northern New York. Here, they found a new beginning. They built their nest by creating their new home, started their family, and began providing for their future.
