Grey Hares

A rabbit's life is short. Even with adequate amounts of food and fresh water, a rabbit's days are numbered. The maximum life span of a rabbit on Grassland is 3 years.

Assumptions

 The age distribution of rabbits is always uniform.

 Rabbits die on their third birthday.

 Young rabbits are ready to breed when they are one month old.

Since the age distribution of the rabbits is uniform with a maximum of 3 years, one third of the rabbits are between 0 and 1 years old. Another one third of the rabbits are between 1 and 2 years old. The remaining one third are between 2 and 3 years old. There are no rabbits older than 3 years - they die on their third birthday, after 36 months. Similarly, 1/36th of the rabbit population are in their first month of life and 1/36th are in their last month of life. Therefore, every month, 1/36th of the rabbit population turns 3 years old and die.

Roldage = Rstart / 36

The old rabbits die, which means that there is more food for the younger rabbits.
