Northern NY Poultry Fanciers
A special thanks,to all the hard workers who put on the show this year. They helped make it possible for my family to have two birds in Champion Row for the first time.
THANK YOU, RAYMO'S ROOST******************* DID YOU KNOW ? ***************
In the mid-18OOs, prizes awarded at poultry shows were usually household items like tea kettles and warming pans.
Breeders of exhibition poultry are called " fanciers". The term goes back to the mid-18OOs in reference to those people willing to pay a "fancy" price for show birds as opposed to cheaper prices for utility birds.
Have a good summer.
Sincerely,
Karen Richie
Secretary of the N.N.Y.P.F.
