My favorite
sport is Soccer. In the fall of 1996, as a freshman, I played striker
on the varsity soccer team at Canton Central School. I scored 17
goals. Our team won the Section 10 championship. We lost to
Plattsburgh 1 - 0 in double overtime in intersectionals.
That spring I
became a member of the 18-member Syracuse District Olympic
Development Program soccer team. There are six district teams in the
state. The state team is chosen from the members of the six teams in
May. State team members compete to make regional and the national
team for their age group.
In the winter I
played hockey on the best high school team in New York State. Our
team won the Section 10 championship on Feb. 23, 1997. We played in
the state semifinals in Utica on March 8, beating Albany Academy 4-2.
The state Division I championship was the next day. We beat Oswego
3-2. Our final record was 21-2-3.
We were escorted back into Canton by the police and fire departments and even the marquee on the theater saluted us.
A lot has happened since this page was posted. I graduated from high school and now attend LeMoyne College in Syracuse.
