THE
VIRTUAL  NATURE  CENTER
Are you a hungry student who wants more guidance? Working on a Scout merit badge or a 4H project?

Are you a harried but motivated teacher who must first learn more in order to teach more? Are you a home schooler?

Do you feel overwhelmed trying to sift out the good stuff from the load the Search Engines bring you? Through The Virtual Nature Center, we share useful links and valuable information

Have you long promised yourself that you would return to nature study when you got time, on your vacation, while convalescing, when you retired? Will you open this window for the current generation, for your grandchildren?

If you do not have an interpretive center near you, this page will provide some tools to help you see better, learn more easily, understand more fully.

You may want to print this and paste it in your favorite field guide so you will rethink the issues from time to time.

Grizzly Bear

We bears could consider undressing little human dolls to look more like bears. We could use the dolls to teach about our world, but are they really cute enough?

Real bears don't wear hats.

We humans would do well to remind ourselves that creatures are not a metaphor for man. Lions are Lion Kings. We go to nature, humbly, to learn not about us, but about life.

Virtual Nature is not a substitute for experiencing actual nature. Not only has there been a revolution in technology, giving us new equipment, new information, and new challenges, but we are developing new attitudes towards our world. These new attitudes just may enable us to save ourselves. It’s worth a try, isn’t it?
