The rabbit population changes from month to month. Some rabbits are born (an increase in the population) and some rabbits die ( a decrease in the population). Therefore, the number of rabbits at the end of the month (R_end) is equal to the number of rabbits that exist at the beginning of the month (R_start) plus the number of new rabbits that are born (R_born) minus the number of rabbits that die (R_die).

The number of rabbits that are born and the number that die depend on how much food is available for each rabbit.
