Hello. Welcome to this site. I am a professional photographer. I shoot newspaper assignments, stock photography, and miscellaneous freelance jobs. When I am not working for money I try to go out and shoot for myself. Anything that inspires me for my own personal gratification. I use the Minolta Maxxum auto focus system of cameras, lenses, & flash units. I created this site to inform others about what a wonderful pro system that Minolta has created. The Minolta system has been overlooked by a large percentage of the working pros who gravitate mostly toward Nikon and Canon cameras. I think there are several reasons for this, but that is another story. Oh well, they do not know what they are missing.
OCTOBER 22, 1999: I just learned that one of four photos I submitted to the 1999 Gordon Parks Photography Competition at Fort Scott Community College, Fort Scott, Kansas, has been selected as one of the finalists. The finalist winners will be exhibited at the Fort scot college Nov.15 through Dec. 10, 1999. These finalists face another round of judging to select a first, second, & third place winners and honorable mentions. The survivors of that judging will be placed in a group show to tour the United States.

For those interested, the photo was made with a Minolta 9xi camera & a Minolta 28mm f2.8 AF lens. Film was Kodak Tri-X processed in D76 with a 1:1 dilution.
I try to be upbeat & light hearted but life has it's ups and downs. Some people have found this essay to be disturbing. The essay consists of a series of 19 black & white photos.
