NATURE & SCENICS
This green grasshopper was shot in my backyard as he sat on a sunflower. When I first spotted him I was struck by his color. I captured him in a jar and placed him in the fridge for a short while to slow him down. A few minutes into the shoot and he warmed up and took off.
I was shooting fishermen in the Salmon River at Pulaski, NY about 8:00AM one fall morning when I saw this patch of oak leaves covered with frost in a shady spot protected from the sun. This photo was a first place winner in the Sierra Magazine annual photography contest.
This photo was made during a visit to Niagara Falls on a foggy morning in February.
